Episode 104: Olympics Special

Mission : To complete all missions, To be the attack team and defense team (switch team every 15 minutes)

 

This episode is about Running Man Olympics Game 2012 (London 2012 Summer Olympics period), and Jung Jae Hyung is the MC on the opening scene. Running Man Team VS Idols Team (7 VS 7). The sports competition have Relay, Volleyball, High Jump (all members in the team support whoever to cross the bar at the swimming pool), and scary bell race (Attack-Defense switching). The winner will get the reward is the Running Man's golden medal.

Blue Team : Idol Team (Ham Eun Jung [T-ara], Nichkhun [2PM], Jung Yong Hwa [CN Blue], Lee Joon [MBLAQ], Eunhyuk [Super Junior], Yoon Doo Joon [BEAST], Siwan [ZE:A])

White Team : Running Man Team (Song Ji Hyo, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, Ha Dong Hoon, Kang Gary, Ji Suk Jin, Lee Kwang Soo)


Personal Comments:

•  It's been a long time since there's an episode as exciting as intense as this. So much better than the 100th episode!!!
• Considering they had another Sports-theme episode not too long ago (ep 86 featuring Ha Ji Won), this was the better version hands down.
• If remembered correctly, this is also the 2nd time the Running Man members are together in one team (the 1st time was Big Bang's episode). It's always good to see them united as one!
• The opening was already hilarious. Jung Jae Hyung introduce the participants in 3 different languages (English, Korean and French) and play the piano version of  "St. Agnes and the Burning Train" so cool! :D
• From the start, the Idol Team already seems very competitive but I do feel that the Running Man members shouldn't get underestimated just because they have two elderly in the team.
• Just look at how the Sparta and Ace run! FULL SPEED AHEAD! They are being called that for a reason.
• Yoo Jae Suk was the decisive factor but he still showed concern for Eunhyuk by telling him to be careful while trailing him round the sharp turn.
• I feel Coach Kook's constant lectures when they lost the first round was a bit too much. But may be because he wants the team to be as competitive as the Idol Team.
• Running Man Team got better as they slowly build up their rhythm during the Volleyball and Hurdles game, especially Kwang Soo: from zero to hero. Really must salute him to tank all those shits.
• Finally get to see the return of BELLS HIDE AND SEEK race. That's where the fun begins!!
• The Running Man Team didn't make full use of being the chasing team first to gain an early advantage. But also already expected that the Idol Team members are able to escape easily due to their speed and agility.
• Sad for Ji Hyo and Gary who ALMOST tear off Nickhun's name tag but due to distractions, he won the match instead. What an epic battle. 
• Able to tear off the name tags of Kim Jong Kook, the Ace Ji Hyo, and Gary as well as being the sole survivor, no doubt that the MVP was Nickhun.
• This episode is definitely in my Top 8 episodes.

Episode 103: Princess Race/Beauty and the Beast

Guests : Shin Se Kyung, Noh Sa Yeon, Yoo Joon Sang

Location : South Korea, Mangwon Hangang swimming pool, S-Oil Building (Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul)

Mission : To complete all missions, To find the princesses, To carry the princess (Don't princess's feet touch the ground), To go the food spot, To cross the swimming pool on balance beam 

This episode is about 2 beautiful women and 1 beast man. The first period is about Princess Race.  

Team : 3 Teams
Red Team - Shin Se Kyung, HaHa, Kang Gary
Blue Team - Noh Sa Yeon, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo
Yellow Team - Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, Ji Suk Jin 

Personal Comments:

• Second appearances by Shin Se Kyung and Noh Sa Yeon.
• An upgrade of the Queen Race (ep 49), in which Noh Sa Yeon also appeared in.
• Didn't know that one of the restaurants during the Hongdae restaurant board game race was HaHa's!! May be that also explained his rasta-coloured shirt during the show's opening :P
• Surprised to see how Kim Jong Kook tremble and gave up midway during his first try of the balancing the beam since he practically ruled all the games in the past.
• Felt that Gary and Ji Suk Jin displayed a good performance during the water beam balancing mission. Normally being seen as the weaker side but this episode showed how unpredictable they are.
• After getting hold of the three name tags, the mission seems to be more in favor to Yoo Joon Sang but he is nothing while facing all 9 of them alone.
• Pity Grasshopper Yoo for getting blackmailed by the beast and forced to eliminate the other members. Just look at how desperate he was at that point in time! *Clock's ticking*
• The part about the beast blackmailing Yoo Jae Suk is likely scripted since guests normally don’t do this kind of stuff.
• If not for Kim Jong Kook's last minute reversal with the assists from Shin Se Kyung, the beast would have won.
• Kim Jong Kook’s gentleman act towards Song Ji Hyo is so sweet! There must be more to his actions than meets the eye ;)
